Solid People are working with our client a multi-disciplinary innovative engineering consultancy who is seeking a high calibre Mechanical Design Engineer. Previous relevant experience is required to work within their Design Office department. They operate in 8 different sectors.


The role requires the Mechanical Design Engineer to carry out detailed design and analysis ranging from small to large scale projects and to provide technical engineering support to assist with delivery activities. You will work within a multidiscipline engineering team to produce designs that meet quality standards and clients' needs whilst being delivered on time and within budget.

You will be undertaking site surveys, preparing and checking detailed 2D and 3D technical designs, undertaking stress analysis and generating drawings. This role will involve some travel to sites throughout the UK to gain practical exposure to certain business areas therefore a full UK driving license would be an advantage. The company undertakes projects across the globe and therefore some international travel may be required as part of the role.

Skills and Experience

- Degree Educated BEng (Hons) 2:1 or above.

- Previous experience using Autodesk Inventor, Revit and Plant 3D would be beneficial. (Candidates with similar software experience will still be considered)

- Industrial design experience including 3D modelling of equipment, pipework, and plants or Process Engineering etc.

- Mechanical Design Engineers with experience in the O&G sector designing pipework, support structures and facilities tend to have the required aptitude for the work this company undertakes

- A team player with excellent communication skills

- Dynamic Individual who can apply them self to multiple projects in different sectors
