Many of us have been in the CAD sector for a number of years, we’re engineers working for engineers. We’re passionate about helping others reach their goals which is why we started out in CAD recruitment and more recently have added CAD software, consultancy and training services.
Solid People is part of the TriMech group. In January 2024 Solid People reformed into TriMech Staffing UK, bringing a renewed commitment to excellence in CAD tailored recruitment services.

Ross Bannister
Hi, I am Ross (BEng (hons) Computer Aided Engineering & Design), I set up Solid People ten years ago after spending a number of years selling CAD solutions to big businesses.
I wanted to deliver a bespoke CAD recruitment service to the industry and change the reputation of recruitment in the sector. Now, I am excited to be developing the business to deliver affordable, flexible software solutions and training. I’m a dad of two, keen on all things sport, particularly golf, tennis and football and more recently have taken up road cycling.
Benji Wilson
I am a Technical Recruiter here at Solid People. A professional past includes several years as an applications engineer following a BSc in Product design from the University of Leeds. The Design development and manufacturing of a motion-capture exoskeleton for VR gaming, being a more recent pursuit as part of a small start-up.
I love the outdoors and try to hike and wild camp as often as possible, using holidays to travel around remote parts of the world.
Steve Glanville
Hi, I’m Steve and I work as a Technical Recruiter for Solid People. I’m a full 360 degree consultant, so I manage the full recruitment process from initial client enquiry to candidate placement and onboarding.
I get to meet new and interesting people everyday and which is a big perk of the job. I’m currently restoring an old motorbike in my spare time. I also enjoy hillwalking, wild camping and going to live music gigs.
Claire Bannister
Hi, I am Claire. I am a brand and marketing professional with extensive experience working with well-known UK consumer brands. I now look after the marketing and branding for Solid People alongside my other job - mum to two little people.
I am not an engineer by trade, so I try to cut through the jargon and ensure that what we do and how we can help is communicated as clearly as possible. I love food, holidays and understanding the impact of brands on culture. I pretend to like the gym, but it’s all a facade.
Chris McCutcheon
Hi, I’m Chris. After graduating with an Automotive Design Degree I joined Solid People as a Technical Recruiter where I worked for 6 years. I have a vast amount of experience supporting candidates through a recruitment process. I now run Master Your CV helping job seekers improve their chances of success with stand out CVs and interview preparation.
Outside of work I enjoy traveling, socialising and hitting the gym wherever possible.
